What’s in This Month’s Envelope? A Peek Into Our Friendship-Themed Mail Club

What’s in This Month’s Envelope? A Peek Into Our Friendship-Themed Mail Club

Every month, when I sit down to write and curate these letters, I think about my own teen daughter and how I could write about something in a way that would appeal to most girls in her age group.

I try to think about the things they struggle with, what I’ve seen her struggle with as she grows through puberty and what I personally had challenges with when I was her age.

For September, the theme is Friendship. I chose this one for several reasons, but perhaps the most important reason is knowing that this is one of the biggest areas where our girls are stretched, shaped, and sometimes even bruised.

And yet, friendships can also be the place where they find the deepest joy. I wanted everything inside this month’s envelope to gently help our daughters answer the questions: “Am I becoming the kind of friend God calls me to be?” and “Do the friendships I hold honor God?”

Here’s what’s inside this month’s delivery:

1. Theme Introduction Card

Each month kicks off with a simple card that sets the tone. I offer a Bible verse that she can meditate on, a relevant affirmation she can speak over herself, as well as an action task your daughter can try to live out her faith in a hands-on way.

For September, the verse is Proverbs 17:17: “A friend loves at all times.”

The action task? Write a note or send a text to a friend, letting them know how much they mean to you or something you admire about them.

2. Friendship Themed Letter

This is the heart of each month: an encouraging, gentle and relatable letter written straight to your daughter. This month, we explored Jonathan and David’s friendship and the four heart habits of a godly friend: selflessness, loyalty, protection, and trust.

3. Encouragement Card

This little card is designed to be shared. Your daughter can pass it on to a friend, slip it in someone’s backpack, or leave it in random public spaces. Because sometimes, offering encouragement is as simple as handing someone truth wrapped in kindness.

4. Conversation Starter Cards

Think of these as little “door openers.” Each card gives you and your daughter a simple prompt to spark a two-way conversation helping you peek into her world. But it also gives you a chance to share what’s on your heart and your perspective.

Because as moms, we take care in actually guiding our girls. These cards make that easier, without it feeling forced or awkward.

5. Guided Prayer

Friendships can be tricky and sometimes even messy. This guided prayer gives your daughter a way to invite God into her friendships, asking Him for wisdom, kindness, and courage.

6. Digital & Printable Bonuses

Because my goal is to help her faith feel both kinda fun but also kinda practical, every month also includes digital extras. This month, your daughter will get:

  • Friendship Check-In Worksheet — A guided page that helps her reflect on one specific friendship and consider whether that friendship is drawing her closer to God or pulling her away.
  • “What Kind of Friend Are You?” Quiz — A fun quiz that helps her discover her natural friendship style (the encourager, the listener, the giver or the protector) and how she can use those traits to serve others well.
  • Journal Prompt Page — Space for deeper reflection with prompts to help her process her feelings as they relate to friendship.
  • An affirmation lock screen for her phone that gives a daily reminder that she is called to be a good friend.

Is your daughter not part of our mail club yet? You can get a free preview of our digital bonuses by downloading the Friendship Check-Up Worksheet here [insert link] to see the kind of faith-based printables we include every single month.

Why Friendship This Month?

I chose this theme because I see it firsthand in my daughter’s world and in conversations with other moms. Friendships are where our girls often face their first big tests: jealousy, loyalty, hurt feelings, or peer pressure. But it’s also where God does some of His best work… helping them discover what it means to love like Jesus, to stand by someone, and to choose kindness over competition.

My prayer is that each piece inside this month’s envelope equips your girl not only to find good friends but also to be a good friend.

Gentle Wrap-Up

Every month, Her Blessed Letters is a little reminder in your daughter’s mailbox that she is not walking this journey alone. God has given her the tools through his Word and there are people, beyond just you as her parent, who want to cheer her on and help her experience it.

September’s theme of friendships feels especially close to my heart because I know how much our girls need these truths at this age.

If you’d love for your daughter to have steady encouragement like this every month, I’d love for you to join us. Learn more about Her Blessed Letters here and see how simple, faith-filled letters can make a big difference in her daily walk.
